THE DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION NEITHER FIXING THE RATES OF FINE AND COURSE AGGREGATES NOR ALLOWING TO OBTAIN IT FROM THE BEDS OF THE LOCAL RIVERS.
The local sellers /Traders supplying the fine and course aggregates to consumers have increased the rates more than 25 percent on the plea that material is brought from the Una area of Himachal Pradesh and rates of the fuel have gone up by way and virtue of the consumers are facing problems due to non procurement of the local sand passes through 4.75 mm IS sieve and available on the local rivers during rainy season. The government is not allowing the consumers to get the river sand from old abondened beds of the rivers however the spread sand during rainy season is considered as the best ,as it is sharp angular grains while river sand is too fine with rounded grains .On the other hand screening from the crushed stone often contains a high percentage of dust and clay and may tend to be flaky. Clay ,silts ,salts mica and the organic matters are a source of weakness in the sand however all sands are generally found to contain some percentage of silt and clay .The Clay forms a sort of film on the particles of sand and prevents and reduces the adhesion of Cement to the sand particles, hence regards the setting of cement and increases drying shrinkage, The sand obtained from old abandoned beds of rivers however considered to be the best for which the government should allow the people of area and circle to get it obtained from the local rivers as such it is unauthorisedely transported by the local sellers and sold on the higher rates without any approval of the District Admininistration.
