HRD MINISTRY HAS NOW BECOME THE EDUCATION MINISTRY:--During the regime of late Shri Rajiv Gandhi former Prime minister of India Government had rechristened the education ministry as the HRD ministry after merging the ministries of culture and sports in to it and late Shri PV Narasimha Rao was the first to hold the charge of the sprawling ministry.It's once again become the education ministry as the expanded turfs of the ministries of human resource development and surface transport proved to be unwieldy. The realisation led to culture and the sports being hived off from the HRD ministry to be restored as the independent ministries.The human resource development approach has been renamed with the nominclature which was given to the ministry 35 years ago.
