ROHRU BRIDGE COLLAPSE AND REASON OF THE INCIDENT :-- It is very unfortunate that major portion of the bridge under construction has been collapsed on 13-5-2020 by way and virtue of which the working of the construction agency has been challenged by the study of impact assessment and management system of the execution for which the responsibility determinates with the department of the PWD being responsible to verify the accuracy of the design and scope of the data approved as for the construction by the authorities responsible to safe guard the interests of the department however it is necessary to examine the reasons of design and the construction failure of the bridge under construction for which the detailed drawings and the class and type of the major bridge as allowed for construction was the responsibility of the department to verify the pattern standard of the design approved and for which the hydraulic data of the bridge under construction is also required to be verified by the engineer responsible to declaring the bridge collapse by way of the design failure as such the design of the major bridges are kept safe by providing sufficient increase in the factor of safety measures so allowed in the code of practice and the manual prefixed by past service of the confirmation through the hydraulic data of the proposed site related as to the river to be cross over by the vehicular traffic however in maximum number of the such incidents of the bridge collapse there may be the reason of the technical defects overlooked or not known to the skills of duty and responsibility while working for the scheduled placement and design parameters required to be maintained at the site of the work under these circumstances it is necessary to follow deep study of impact assessment and the observations collected from the site of the work and re-examination on the basis of record files related to the hydraulic data and the design calculation as well as the monitoring and evaluation of implementation of the planning and commissioning at the site of work for which competent engineering staff is necessitated necessity of the such major bridge hence required to be permanently placed at the site of work to examine and go through the procedure and placement of each and every containment with hundred percent protective check needed for the good construction and placement of the material suggested as by the study of protocol mentioned in the design parameters of the proposed project report required to be verified and followed by the field officers in this behalf of the careful considerations :-- Er Fateh Chand Guleria
