PROJECT ESTIMATES FOR HIGHWAY ENGINEERING AND VISION OF FOUR LANE KIRATPUR NERCHOWK MANALI ROAD PROPOSED FOR REMOVAL OF LANDSLIDES PROBLEMS BETWEEN CHHAROL AND THE SWARGHAT.
While cases of the projects related to the upgradation of roads and highways are reported by the construction agencies it is necessary to follow the information detailed as below.As for as the report of the project is concerned it should be brief but full of all the important information and should be written as a progressive measure outlined with previous history of the road if any existing,or history of the proposal of the road,it's present condition, topographical and the geographical features, possible future developments of the areas sorrounding the road , Rainfall and floods measurements etc etc.It is also necessary to give details of the proposed alignment,it's special features and the justification for the selection of the particular alignment.Necessity for any heavy banks or cuttings proposed and why these could not be avoided.Details of gradients and curves with radii, and where they are in any way unusual.Sight distance and the corresponding provisions made at horizontal and vertical curves.Formation width with relation to the existing and future traffic.Land width to be acquired , permanent and temporary acquisitions.Masonary works to be built, Bridges ,culverts , causeways , drainage, retaining walls, Rest houses ,way side amenities,etc etc and for which separate estimates are prepared by the construction agencies to bring smooth working of the project Estimates required for the Highway Schemes.As for as the Kiratpur Nerchowk Manali Four lane road has been constructed by the National Highway authority of India it is because of the landslides problem continuesly occuring between the portion of Chharol and Swarghat due to geological features of the area for which the alignment has been suggested to bring smooth plying of vehicles on the new alignment changed from the tunnel appeared in the new alignments onwards Kiratpur and then to pass through Jagatkhana and cross the river Satluj and join separate alignment via Rishikesh and Bagher to Hara Bag and Sunder Nagar list by way and virtue of which a distance of about more than eighty kilometres have been reduced from Kiratpur to Nerchowk and the said Reconnaissance and survey work may be said to utmost important and meaningful under the alternative suggested by the Engineering department working on the captioned subject matter deliberation required to be maintained and verified by the local divisions and the Superintending Engineers at Bilaspur Himachal Pradesh from where said route has been investigated and further preliminary reports furnished to the National Highway authority of India for further review and re-examine of the Survey work conducted for removal of the problem of landslides between Chharol and the Swarghat portion because of the topographical and the geological features of the area and alignment of old National Highway.Definitely it is an important achievement of the Authorities and the Government working for the welfare of society and circle and doing the needful under demand under public utilities.
