CODE FOR SOCIAL SECURITY FUND SUGGESTED BY THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PARLIAMENTARY STANDING COMMITTEE MONITORING ON THE LABOUR LAWS AND CODE FOR THE REFORMS

CODE FOR SOCIAL SECURITY FUND :--The unorganised sector of the workers working in the capacity of individual and the self - employed migrants, street vendors, riksha pullers as well as the domestic and farm workers who may have travelled for from their home States during the covid-19 may get benefits of eligibility for social security benefits
The said scheme has been suggested by the recommendations of the parliamentary standing committee on labour laws and reforms related to the code for benefits by way of unemployment insurance scheme and said benefits can be availed by workers who have not been yet covered by the employees state insurance scheme or the employees PF . The committee was headed by the BJD leader Bhartruhari Mahtab that has proposed contributory social security fund in the light of migrant exodus from the cities during the covid-19 lockdown and has left specifics to the centre but kept the formulation sufficiently wide to include form workers and domestic helpers.
