NGT DEMANDING COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR ENVIRONMENT:-- In the recent directions the NGT directed the states and the UTs including the Chandigarh administration to frame action plans for restoration of enviornment and implementation of the comprehensive programs required to be coordinated with the central pollution control board and for which the CPCB may also prepare such plan for utilisation of the funds available and the NGT has directed the CPCB to file the required documents and report with in a period of four months.It is necessary to protect the green buffers along the traffic corridors and also to promote battery operated vehicles.The road dust and the air pollution by way of the increase of number of vehicles has resulted in more congestion ultimately contributing to the air pollution. All the states are responsible to frame comprehensive plan for the environment and report compliance.
