The data prescribed by the study of protocol mentioned in the report of NCRB shows that almost one third of the fatal accidents are hit& run cases which means an accident involving a vehicle where the identity of the vehicle can't be ascertained inspite of the reasonable efforts.The data of the NCRB shows that number of such people killed in hit & run cases was maximum in UP followed number second was the MP.During the 2019 data shows that almost more than 47500 people were killed in the hit & run cases where as total number of killed people in fatal accidents had been enumerated more than 1.37 Lakh who lost their lives in road accidents due to negligent driving.The govt has increased the compensation for death in a hit & run case to Rs 2 Lakh and for grievous injury at Rs 50000
