GENERAL PUBLIC AND REPRESENTATIVES OF CIVIL SOCIETIES ORGANISATIONS, ACTIVE IN THE FIELD OF RTI AND THE RTS, FACING DELAY AND DERELICTION OF DUTY BECAUSE OF DEFUNCT STATUS OF STATE INFORMATION COMMISSION

The RTI welfare Association and its task force taking cognisance of the representation of civil societies organisation and active in the field of Right to information, for strengthening compliance under the provision made, based on the report of the task force, doing their duty well within the mechanism for the transparency and accountability however the public authorities are taking no cognisance of the time lines and accuracy and enforcing delay and dereliction of duty without any reason of the access to information under the control of the public authorities , in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority, list by way and virtue of which it is necessary to harmonise revelation of information in actual practice likely to conflict with other public interests including efficient operations of the Governments, optimum use of limited fiscal resources and the preservation of confidentiality of sensitive information. Additionally, in the routine work of governance, Government functionaries are required to make decisions in a discretionary manner, but broad -guiding principles are laid down in some rule or the other and it is necessary to update the things other wise no correct vision of the Right to Information may be obtained from the concerned public authority. The general superitendence, direction and management of the affairs of the State Information Commission shall vest in the Chief Information Commissioner, who shall be assisted by the Information Commissioners and may exercise all such powers and do all such Acts and things which may be exercised or done by the Chief Information Commissioner autonomously without being subjected to directions by any other authority under this Act.
