RAINY SEASON IS ON THE FULL SWING HOWEVER THE WORK OF PLANTING TREES VERY SLOW AND THE DEPARTMENT OF FOREST TAKING NO COGNIZANCE OF THE SEEDLINGS TO BE SUPPLIED ANNUALLY.

Basically the department of Forest is responsible to increase the plantation ,even the direct sowing of seeds is too a natural process of plantation .The transplanting from the nurseries is a job that requires skill however a little carelessness results in the failure .The root system of the plant must not be disturbed or injured while planting out and this can be done by carefully digging out the seedlings when the soil is wet and easy to work, along with a ball of earth around the roots and putting them in the new site just as they were in their original position.Care should be taken that the roots point downwards in their natural direction without twisting and turning.Although trees may be raised by means of direct sowing or cuttings but in practice it is found much better to grow plants to grow plants of various suitable species in the nurseries and then to transplant nursery cultured seedlings two to three years old when their root system is well developed so as to get established in to the new soil . Accordingly the department of forest is maintaining the nurseries for transplantation of the plants .The seedlings in the nurseries should be raised from seeds but species which does not grow freely from seeds have to be raised from the cuttings or layers of graftings .The plants should be allowed to remain in the nursery untill they have become sufficiently hard to withstand planting out,but not allowed to remain so long in the nursery as to have their root system unduly cramped for space .The forest department is maintaining the nurseries and for transporting young plants from nursery other Concerned departments and the group and societies responsible to arrange for the necessary transportation. The department of Forest is silent on the captioned subject matter deliberation required to be maintained by the dimensions for annual seedlings to be supplied and so accommodated in the every nursery of the department of Forest .The labour is employed by the department of forest on the basis of plantation campaign and requirements raised by the others concerned however the department is yet silent on the issue and matter and no work has been taken in hand for the required work of plantation and transportation from the nurseries.In addition to the forest department the department of the Public Works and the Panchayati Raj also taking annual plantation programme from the government and doing the the work of plantation at some selected spots where found necessary and also to serve as effective land mark however the work is very slow as far as the annual season of the plantation is concerned and no special labourers employed for the purpose of plantation of trees yet even the rainy season is on full swing .
