ESSENTIAL REPAIRS OF THE RURAL ROADS , NEEDED EASY REPAIR SHOULD BE TAKEN IN HAND BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS , REQUIRED IT TO BRING IN THE SAFER CONDITIONS
Rain damages occurred during the recent heavy rains have been assessed more than one thousand of crores. As for the road connectivity of hill roads concerned the Mandi district still to be restored in the Seraj area and Karsog, Dharampur etc and road closure resulted in because of the constant rain and the stone fall from hill profiles for which the work of clearance is becoming risky but the public Works department doing needful and trying for the reopening of such sites where it is risky to work during the rain. In addition to Mandi district rain damages are also affecting adverse in other districts as for the normal situation is concerned , where it is necessary to improve the position and situation of the rain damages and work for the regular normal traffic flow and for which essential maintenance of every road required to do needful for the easy repair and replacement and any dislocation occurring under floods can be easily rectified after the flood recede. Berms should be filled and the road side drains must be opened for the removal and diversion of water from road surface. Saturation or softening of the road bed can be prevented by providing longitudinal ditches of sufficient depth parallel to the road on both sides and the cross section of the side ditches is usually V shaped or trapezoidal and should be filled with 20 mm to 40 mm gravel or ballast.
